Today’s post is about Jaipur Rugs, specifically their Chaos Theory collection by designer Kavita Chaudhary. The collection “traces the beauty in nature’s seemingly cluttered patterns. Enthused by natural materials, classic color palettes, and the distinctive work of artisans and craftspeople she works with; Kavi’s rugs are inspired by the purity and chaos in nature.” I love the organic palette that borrows colors from nature and the immediate environment around us. The rugs show patterns that ought to be familiar from our surroundings yet which may have remained unnoticed by all but the discerning observer. What a wonderful way to incorporate nature into the more immediate interior of our home or workspace! To me, it has a grounding influence and makes me feel a part of a much larger whole.
I am also happy to feature Jaipur Rugs because they have a network of more than 40,000 artisans in India and their business model emphasizes empowerment of marginalized communities. Visit them at their website Jaipur Rugs to learn more about their social enterprise and to see more designs from the Chaos collection as well as that from other designers.
