Rashtriya Rifles Force Headquarters at Reasi has launched an initiative to incorporate Corporate Sector under the vision of 'Corporate Social Responsibility' to provide job opportunities to the local poverty ridden populace. Army at Samote organised a workshop cum awareness drive at Kotranka, Kandi, Budhal and Chasana in collaboration with Jaipur Rugs.
Jaipur Rugs is a leading handmade carpet manufacturing enterprises of India having an annual turnover of more than 20 million dollars and exporting its product to 30 countries in America and Europe.
During the workshop, Sanjay Singh of Jaipur Rugs apprised a gathering of over 300 ladies at each place that the firm with the mission of 'Serve to the Community' is keen to establish carpet weaving centres run by the local ladies where training, provision of raw material, designing, marketing and export of finish product will be taken care of by the company. Based on the time devoted by the ladies they would be earning minimum Rs 5000 - 6000 per month besides looking after there house hold commitment, he added. Choudhary Mohammed Shafi, sarpanch of Kotranka expressed his gratitude and concern shown by Army to launch such employment drive which will surely improve the economic condition of hundred of family and ensure no scope of revival of militancy in the region.
