Atlanta— National Geographic, one of the world’s largest nonprofit scientific and educational organizations, has selected Jaipur Rugs as a new licensee under its National Geographic Home Collection for North America.
Under this multiyear agreement, National Geographic and Jaipur will team up to launch a line of rugs based on images from National Geographic’s photographic archive. The rugs will launch to trade at the spring High Point Market and will be available to consumers through retailers and trading partners in the United States and Canada in April 2015.
“For more than a century, National Geographic explorers and photographers have traveled the world to capture stunning images and collect compelling stories,” said Krista Newberry, National Geographic’s svp of licensing, North America.
“Jaipur is one of the leaders in the textile industry, and we are excited to work with them to bring some of our incredible photography and artwork to consumers on rugs, pillows and poufs.” “Jaipur is excited to collaborate with National Geographic, because it offers an opportunity to express a unique fusion of art forms. Both companies use our own creative mediums to not only capture the word’s stories, but also share them through tangible, enduring art forms,” said Asha Chaudhary, Jaipur’s ceo. “We are thrilled to be able to infuse such passion into a collection for our consumers to connect with and bring into their homes.”
All of National Geographic’s net proceeds support vital exploration, conservation, research and education programs.
