'Endeavour': Publication highlighting positive action of CII members

CHANDIGARH: Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) released 'Endeavour', a publication which captures the best practices and initiatives taken by CII members on affirmative action (AA) for the benefit of SC/ST youth in the north. Affirmative action is recognised as one of the most appropriate initiatives to tackle widespread inequality in the society, bring in equality, inclusive and sustainable growth and provide a level playing field to the deprived sections of the society.

"The concept rests on four key pillars of employability, education, employment and entrepreneurship. CII has been at the forefront of promoting affirmative action for SC/STs within its members and the society at large and 'Endeavour' is one such initiative of CII which provides an insight into the range of activities pursued by the industry for the backward sections", shared Pikender Pal Singh, regional director, CII NR.

"To ensure that the message goes far and wide, 'Endeavour' has become a potent tool to showcase the industry's best practices. It also provides an opportunity to members to learn what others are doing in the 4E's for affirmative action. While there is a critical need to create awareness amongst the industry, there is an additional responsibility to recognise the efforts of organisations already committed to the agenda of inclusivity. Endeavour has come in for special appreciation from all stakeholders", Singh added.
